Being a kid in foster care

Everyone’s experience is different and they have different reasons on being in foster care. Most kids get bounced around homes until they age out of the system, and then they become homeless while some find homes like I did. Let me go into detail of why my brother, and I entered the system. Our parents did hard core drugs to making meth in our house, and would party while I was at home with my baby brother. I was four at the time. Then, someone called DHS and we were taken away. I got lucky in a way, because I didn’t stay in the system very long from what I remember. But most kids block out the trauma of it all. It doesn’t bother me now, because I grown up. I believe that going through that has made me grow up, from what I have been told. I had to take care of my brother my whole life, and it feels like I didn’t have a normal childhood. But what is normal today? No one is normal, and going through that has only made me a stronger person. I am thankful for going through that and I know that sounds crazy, but it made me who I am today.

Everyone thanks for reading. Stay tuned next blog is about me coming out, and a bad relationship
